San Bernardino Superior Court Expands Public Access with Addition of Self-Help Services in Needles

| Category:

On Friday, September 1, 2017, the San Bernardino Superior Court will begin providing Self-Help services at the Needles Courthouse, located at 1111 Bailey Avenue. The Needles Courthouse recently re-opened for limited service in July 2017 after a multi-year closure due to budget cuts.

The Self-Help Resource Center will be open to the public on the first Friday of each month during the business hours of 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. Members of the public with questions about family law, child support, guardianship, landlord/tenant, or small claims cases may visit the Needles Courthouse for assistance. Court staff can provide practical legal information, answer questions regarding process and procedure, provide resources and tools to assist with preparing necessary forms, and review completed forms to ensure they are ready for filing.

All services provided are free, on a first-come, first-served basis. The Resource Center’s only requirement for providing service is that the litigant does not have an attorney. Self-Help staff cannot provide legal advice; therefore no attorney-client relationship is created as a result of any information or services provided to self-represented parties.

With these added services, the San Bernardino Superior Court will offer Self-Help services in eight locations: San Bernardino (two locations), Fontana, Victorville, Barstow, Joshua Tree, Needles, and the Rancho Cucamonga branch of the County Law Library.
