SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT TO OPEN TWO NEW CRIMINAL COURTROOMS SAN BERNARDINO, CA

The Superior Court of San Bernardino County is pleased to announce that it will open two new fully-staffed criminal courtrooms located at the San Bernardino Justice Center and Rancho Cucamonga Courthouse.

The courtroom locations were determined after careful review of the three-year average filing statistics, assessed judicial officer needs, current judicial officer allocations, and shortages throughout the county. It is anticipated that the criminal courtroom located at the San Bernardino Justice Center will open within the next few months, followed by the Rancho Cucamonga Courthouse soon thereafter.

These additions are a direct result of the changes made in how courts are funded, recent judicial appointments made by Governor Edmund G. Brown, the passage of AB 103, which reallocated two additional judgeships to San Bernardino County, and the Superior Court of San Bernardino County’s continuing effort to restore services and increase access to justice.

The Superior Court of San Bernardino County serves the largest county in the contiguous United States with 15 courthouses, as far as 145 miles apart, that spread over 20,000 square miles, serving an estimated 2.14 million residents.
